René Schober, Head of the Graphic Collection at the Academy of Fine Arts Vienna, provides an insight into the works of Thomas Ender created during the Brazil expedition of 1817/1818. In the exhibition Brazil - 200 Years of Relations at the Natural History Museum Vienna, three of his works document this era of great expeditions and voyages by ship.

The collection, founded at the end of the 17th century for study purposes and systematically expanded, offers a unique overview of European sculpture history with its approximately 450 preserved plaster casts.
